Sustainability Engineering Research Group
About EngS
Formed in 2018, the group currently includes professors and undergraduate and graduate students from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Sorocaba/SP campus, and other partner entities. The group researches topics related to the Management and Sustainable Production of products, processes, and services from the Product Life Cycle perspective. It includes the study and theoretical and applied development of more sustainable production systems, focusing on reducing the consumption of materials and energy and minimizing the generation of waste throughout the life cycle of products for the development of a Circular Economy. It also addresses sustainability indicators, the environmental, social, and economic Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the recovery and revaluation of waste in production systems, reverse logistics, and sustainable manufacturing, generating knowledge and solutions to support production sustainability in companies.
